چکیده

Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) is a set of methods for retrieving related images from an image dataset based on the image features. In the retrieval system, features recognition is the main phase of the system. One of the most important features visually recognized by humans in images is color. A company’s trademark plays an important in expansion of its business. Color is a very important part of any image. It provides strong descriptor and also helps them to distinguish between two images. Therefore, many techniques have been explained thoroughly in this paper to describe the color features and their advantages and disadvantages. In this paper, comprehensive review of various techniques has been discussed to retrieve the trademark images on the basis of its color feature. We have studied various methods of CBIR and presented some basics for review. KeywordsCBIR, Color features, Color descriptor.

Evaluation of Similarity Measures for Template Matching

Image matching is a critical process in various photogrammetry, computer vision and remote sensing applications such as image registration, 3D model reconstruction, change detection, image fusion, pattern recognition, autonomous navigation, and digital elevation model (DEM) generation and orientation. The primary goal of the image matching process is to establish the correspondence between two ...

Color scene transform between images using Rosenfeld-Kak histogram matching method

In digital color imaging, it is of interest to transform the color scene of an image to the other. Some attempts have been done in this case using, for example, lαβ color space, principal component analysis and recently histogram rescaling method. In this research, a novel method is proposed based on the Resenfeld and Kak histogram matching algorithm. It is suggested that to transform the color...

Trademark Retrieval by Relaxation Matching on Fluency Function Approximated Image Contours

In this paper, we propose an automatic retrieval method that addresses the problem of finding similar trademark images from a database when compared with an input. Our method is based on evaluating the compatibility of relative relations among extracted image contour segments between the input and the registered images using relaxation matching. The overall compatibility, after finding a best m...

Local Derivative Pattern with Smart Thresholding: Local Composition Derivative Pattern for Palmprint Matching

Palmprint recognition is a new biometrics system based on physiological characteristics of the palmprint, which includes rich, stable, and unique features such as lines, points, and texture. Texture is one of the most important features extracted from low resolution images. In this paper, a new local descriptor, Local Composition Derivative Pattern (LCDP) is proposed to extract smartly stronger...

Color invariant object recognition using entropic graphs

We present an object recognition approach using higher order color invariant features with an entropy based similarity measure. Two methods to compare images are: 1) histogram matching and 2) assuming a fixed probability density function. Histogram bin size is usually set in an ad-hoc manner, where the best bin size for a specific application is experimentally determined. Another solution to im...
